Personality: Salzem is generally a downer, although he doesn't voice his pessimism outwardly often. He is quiet, but a fighter when necessary. He prefers to not be in the thick of things, rather, he prefers to hang back and attack from a distance. This doesn't mean he's a pushover in close combat however. Salzem has general issues making friends. He doesn't let people in, preferring to keep everyone at arm's length. While some might consider him a friend, comrade or brother, Salzem has a hard time extending these feelings back. On his better days, Salzem is gentle, kind and sweet, caring deeply about others, but is hesitant to enter combat. Salzem, despite the age they live in, dislikes being thrown into combat himself. Its not like being hurt scares the ninja, rather, he simply hates the fact that he has to hurt other people to get them to stop.  

Appearance: Salzem stands at about 5 ft and weighs in just under 100 pounds. Salzem wears a pair of green baggy pants and a blue over-coat just a little too big for him. On his hands he wears large red leather gloves (also just a little too big) and a massive light brown leather hat  with a long, floppy point on top and a large width that casts a shadow over Salzem's face, obscuring it in shadow to the point where nothing but the glow of his eyes can be seen. Salzem's eyes, strangely, are a bright, vibrant yellow, round, but gentle, hardly ever a presence of malice within them. Salzem wears large brown leather shoes, and carries a small curved stick on his back that acts like a medium of sorts for his chakra. With most of his clothes being too big for him, it appears as if Salzem his flopping as he walks. It doesn't bother him though. Under his massive coat and hat, Salzem has short, curly black hair and a thin, gangly frame. He walks with a sort of shuffle, sometimes falling flat on his face if he doesn't lift his feet high enough.

Bio: Salzem was never the most optimistic of children. He never favored the tensions rising between the villages and as a result, was often picked on. It wasn't quite so bad, as Salzem learned to cope, to ignore and just not care about the horrid things they said. They were, after all, just words. It was when he was chosen for the Jinchuuriki role that his life really began to take a turn for the worst. With the tailed beast trapped inside him, Salzem was hurt and bashed even more, especially that the assaults no longer just came from words. He was knocked over repeatedly, hit spontaneously, hurt in many ways. That's when he took to his large clothing. Although it stood out massively from everyone else, no one could look him in the face anymore, now that it was obscured in shadow. At least, his tormentors couldn't They'd look away, seemingly ashamed of what they'd done or what they were about to do. Although this didn't stop his torment, it did deter most of the physical violence he was subject to. Salzem held onto the nugget of hope that one day he'd live in a place where, not just he, but everyone would be peaceful. Where all this prejudice and pain would no longer exist. Salzem hoped and prayed for that day to be tomorrow. He's still praying. Salzem lived alone in his house, no mother or father to speak of. No siblings, nothing but his clan to go to for support. Sometimes, he didn't even as he hobbled home from an especially brutal beating. How could he? He didn't deserve it.

RP Sample: Salzem grabbed his hat off the hook it hung from and headed out the door, leaving his house to get groceries. It was that day of the week: the day where the cabinets were nearly empty. Salzem shuffled through the streets of Konoha to the food-stores, his massive hat creating enough shade to hide his face. Most of it. His eyes glowed out through the shadow, round and innocent despite the massive power he had inside. He'd smile at passersby even though they couldn't see it. It made him feel good. He felt a small ball of warmth in his stomach bubble up. Comfy, kind and gentle. He was happy. Salzem shuffled up into the store, his hat nearly getting pulled off his head as he entered. Some people stared at his strange appearance, but others knew him. Not as Salzem, but the weird kid. It didn't bother him, the looks they gave. Not really. He was used to it. How could he not be? It happened every day! He grabbed a paper bag from a nearby counter and began his shopping spree. Money had been a little tight recently, but he was sure he could get all that he needed and a little of what he wanted. Despite his childish desires screaming for sweets and other foods of that creed, Salzem knew a little better than that. He filled his bag full of fruits, instant ramen, bread and peanut butter. He filled his one bag with everything a young ninja would need to grow strong and then he filled it with some of what one would need to grow happy. Chocolate spread, tea and salty dried meats just for those occasions where he felt he deserved them. They'd last a while just in case that occasion happened later rather than sooner. He checked out of the store, paying for his goods and a little more fore as soon as he stepped outside, he saw the many older children standing outside, facing him with those evil little grins on their faces. Salzem's eyes went wide in panic and tried to run for the safety of his home but his foot caught on the ground and he fell, his groceries spilling all over. He winced at the pain but it was nothing compared to what he was about to experience. He closed his eyes, and readied himself.

Salzem opened the door to his house, carrying a battered bag of groceries. He limped over to the counter, and placed the destroyed bag there before closing the door. They'd really one a number on him this time. Tore his blue jacket. He'd have to get that fixed. Eventually. Right now, all he wanted to do was get some food and sleep. He put away the groceries, all but the bread and chocolate spread. He needed some cheering up. 'Twas in vain. Sweetness can't quite dim the pain of a black eye or bruised ribs. Salzem hug his hat on the hook by the door before climbing the stairs to his room, nearly falling down them in the attempt.
